Target Audience:

This workshop is designed especially for Critical Care RNs and the Medical Surgical RNs to experience collaboration with Physicians, Pharmacist and Respiratory Therapist during Patient Emergencies.

Course Objectives:

Simulation is a great tool for learning, especially when it comes to patient safety issues and inter-professional teamwork. The following are objectives we would like you to achieve from this experience:

  • To demonstrate appropriate patient assessment skills during an emergent situation.
  • To identify early signs and symptoms in unstable patients and execute the appropriate chain of command prior for assistance.
  • To demonstrate and initiate resuscitation skills appropriate to your BLS and/or ACLS certifications.
  • To identify and discuss how the inter-professional simulation impacts communication, teamwork, and improved clinical practice in an emergent situation.
